Honolulu real estate blogger Mark Schulte recently bought a house for $1.5 million.
He didn’t know that it was a luxury home and he’d just gotten a mortgage on it, but it’s now worth more than he thought.
He’d never seen such a big price tag for a house.
He’s been in the real estate business for more than 20 years, and he’s never sold a house on his own.
He knew the price was going to be crazy, but he was surprised when it hit $1 million.
“It was just a little bit shocking, but then it kind of settled down,” he said.
“It’s just a great deal.”
Schulte is the founder of the Real Estate Blog, and for years he was a part of a group of real estate bloggers who put out a lot of information about the market.
They also were a part-time group, but now they’ve all gone their separate ways.
“I started with about 10 real estate blogs and now I have over 100,000 real estate blog posts,” Schultes said.
“We’ve had a couple of years where we’ve had to step back, and now we’re working on some things we’re doing that will help us with the information we need to sell properties.”
Schults job as a blogger has helped him grow his real estate knowledge, but what really makes him tick is his appreciation for what makes a home great.
“My dream house is going to have a really cool design,” he says.
“So I’m really looking for things that are not just decorative, but are actually really functional.
Schutes real estate website sells more than 30,000 homes, many of them in Hawaii. “
When you have a home that’s made out of quality wood, it’s going to look beautiful.”

He’s also the host of a show on The Biltmore Estate, which airs on KTVA.
