President Donald Trump said Wednesday he would like to see Trump Tower remain in New York City if he is allowed to sell it.
Trump is scheduled to be in the city for a private fundraiser on Friday.
The president’s campaign has said that he plans to visit the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Trump has said he plans on holding a fundraiser in New Jersey on April 16.
“I think it would be a great thing for New York, I think it’s a great place to be, and I think I’m going to do it.
I mean, if they’re allowed to take it, then I would do it,” Trump said.
The president also told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes he would consider using the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, as a temporary residence if that is the option presented to him.
“You know, if I’m able to find something that’s more convenient and more affordable, I will be happy to sell that to the taxpayers,” Trump told Hayes.
The President’s daughter Ivanka Trump has not responded to a request for comment about her father’s plan.
